Huang Xiaoming film tops presale box office charts

However, the first case he takes on involves a masseuse, portrayed by actress Yan Ni, who is accused of murdering an elderly client, played by late ethnic Mongolian actor Tu Men. As the truth unfolds and story becomes increasingly intricate, the lawyer finds himself once again submerged in the tumult of human nature.

During a premiere screening in Beijing on Aug 21, Huang said that he was instantly captivated by the script, which was shown to him by director Li Taige. As a result, he decided to finance the project, and used his influence to persuade stars like Yan to sign up.

As of Thursday, Heart's Motive has already grossed 4.4 million yuan ($604,600) in reservation revenues, placing it at the top of presale box office charts ahead of its opening day on Aug 25.
