A campaign was launched on Tuesday to tackle piracy and protect copyrights related to the upcoming 19th Asian Games, which will be held in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, next month.

The campaign, which will end on Oct 29, was jointly developed by the Cyberspace Administration of China, the National Copyright Administration and the Games' organizing committee.

The NCA announced the campaign on its official website, saying that its focus during the sports event would be copyright-related problems, such as unauthorized broadcasts of the Games via web links, spreading the Games' programs online without permission, and falsifying information.

Individuals and departments that use artificial intelligent technology to create and publish fake videos about the event, or release unauthorized commodity promotions in the name of the Games, will also be major targets of the campaign, the NCA said.

It called for cyberspace and copyright agencies across the country to perform their duties of supervising online platforms to rectify such problems, with channels set up to allow people to report suspected acts of piracy.
