German sports car maker Porsche is showcasing a customized Taycan Turbo S at the ongoing Chengdu motor show, one of the most important events for Chinese car aficionados in the second half this year.
This one-of-a-kind model, which represents the fusion of art and speed, is the work of Chinese artist Ding Yi and Porsche's Sonderwunsch program, which represents the highest level of customization services offered by the Stuttgart-based carmaker.
"China is an extremely important strategic market for Porsche, where customers are younger, more diverse and have a higher demand for personalization," said Michael Kirsch, president and CEO of Porsche China.
"We at Porsche resonate with our customers, inspiring and underlining their own personalities and lifestyles.
"Our goal is to offer a wide range of personalized options and precisely tailored products according to the needs of our customers, which is the embodiment of the brand's concept of modern luxury," said Kirsch.
China is Porsche's largest market worldwide, with 43,832 vehicles handed over to Chinese customers in the first half of 2023.
The carmaker said the new Cayenne, one of its most popular models, will be delivered to Chinese customers from late September.
In the country, the model is offered with three different engine versions. Besides a stronger sporty performance, it offers an improved onboard experience, including the passenger display which is available for the first time in the Cayenne.
The standard equipment of the Cayenne has been expanded to include Matrix LED Headlights, 20-inch wheels, front and rear Park Assist including a reversing camera, and a smartphone tray with inductive charging at up to 15 watts.
