Customs authorities seize imported food from Japan

The Lucheng district of Wenzhou, Zhejiang province, launched an investigation recently after seizing imported food from Japan's Saitama Prefecture.
According to the WeChat account of the market supervision bureau of Lucheng district, the imported food, a lollypop bran-named Popcan was found by local law enforcement officers in an imported food store during an inspection. The flabel shows that it was produced in Japan's Saitama Prefecture, which is one of the areas from which food imports are prohibited by the General Administration of Customs.
Officers confiscated the of goods and opened an investigation.
On July 7, the General Administration of Customs imposed an import ban on food from 10 Japanese cities or prefectures, including Saitama Prefecture, to protect Chinese consumers from Japan's plan to discharge of radioactive wastewater into the sea.
