A program called "Discovering Intangible Cultural Heritage – Kites" was held recently at an international art center in Germany that allowed people overseas to experience the artistic charm of Chinese kite culture up close.

German students, as well as students from Malaysia, Singapore, Japan, South Korea and others learned about the development of kites and how to make them during the event at Xilin International Art School in Essen, Germany.

Students picked up paintbrushes to create flying works of art during the program. Some adorned the kites with intricate geometric designs, while others unleashed their creativity and painted beautiful scenes. They also learned how to assemble the parts into a complete kite.
