Farmers in Wanquan township of Wanrong county, Shanxi province, have been reaping a rich harvest of pears recently.

They are busy picking the fruit in the orchards and expecting a good income this year.

With green pears hanging on the branches, it presents a charming harvest scene.

"This variety of pear has a high sugar content and good taste," said 48-year-old villager Cao Yun. "And its high yield can bring me an income of around 90,000 yuan ($12,254.9) from my 0.67 hectares of land."

Wanquan has 133.3 hectares of land planted with pears.

During the planting process, the township provided pear farmers with technical services, guiding them to plant and manage using scientific methods, which effectively improved the quality of pear trees and increased their incomes.
