A doctor in Lianyungang, Jiangsu province, is under investigation by the local health commission after writing an inappropriate suggestion on a health report, reported Jimu News, a news portal based in Hubei province, on Wednesday.

The report, from Lianyungang Xuwei New Area People's Hospital, stated that the examinee's IQ was "relatively low" and that employers should be careful when considering them for recruitment. The report also said that the examinee had a sluggish facial expression and was slow in response.

However, the final conclusion of the report, conducted by a doctor surnamed Wang on Monday, was positive, indicating that the examinee was healthy.

After the report came to light on social media, it quickly caught a lot of attention among netizens. Many thought that the doctor was being disrespectful towards the examinee and questioned the doctor's professionalism.

On Wednesday, a worker with the medical examination center at the hospital told the reporter of Jimu News that the medical examination didn't include specific tests on the brain and the nerve system. The diagnosis came out of the inquiry of the physicians.

After initially denying that the report came from the Lianyungang Xuwei New Area People's Hospital, a hospital employee admitted on Wednesday that the report was indeed issued by the hospital.

It was also revealed that the doctor responsible for the assessment is currently under investigation. The hospital said it would make an official announcement about the incident when the investigation is concluded.
