Thai PM greets arrival of Chinese tourists on inaugural visa-free day

Thai Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin welcomed Chinese visitors at Suvarnabhumi Airport on Monday to mark the first day of the government's visa-free scheme for Chinese and Kazakh tourists.
Leading a group of ministers and officials, Srettha attended a welcome ceremony organized by the Tourism Authority of Thailand for Chinese passengers of Thai AirAsia X flight XJ761, which departed from Shanghai and landed in Bangkok at 10:15 am. According to the Royal Gazette last week, easier entry and 30-day visa-free stays for tourists of China and Kazakhstan will start on Sept 25 and end on Feb 29 next year.
