A driver was found dead in his truck at a parking lot in Kunming, Yunnan province, after a passerby smelled the odor of the decomposing body.

The passerby, surnamed Wang, told Jimu News that he was parking his own truck on Oct 2 and observed the truck of the dead man. He reported trying to look through the windows and could see many dead flies, but he didn't have a clear view because the front windshield was blocked by a sun visor and the side windows were covered with opaque film. He judged from the appearance of the vehicle that it had not been moved for many days.

Wang called the police, who found the body. A security guard said the truck had been in the parking lot for more than 10 days.

A man surnamed Li from a transport company in Chifeng, Inner Mongolia autonomous region, viewed a video and identified the driver as his employee. He sent colleagues to deal with the situation.

Li told Jimu News that the driver, surnamed Hao, was 41 years old and lived with his father after a divorce. He said the company had lost contact with Hao in mid-August, as Hao had switched off his cellphone and the truck's BeiDou Navigation Satellite System. He thought Hao didn't have the money to repay a loan and avoided answering phone calls.

Kunming police said their preliminary investigation had ruled out the possibility of foul play, but they did not confirm a cause of death.
