Traditional Chinese operas highlighted in cultural event

Chinese Opera Culture Week was held from Sept 28 to Oct 4, gathering artists of various traditional Chinese opera styles, such as Peking Opera, Pingju Opera, Kunqu Opera and Yuju Opera.

Nine award-winning artists, including Kunqu Opera actress Wei Chunrong and Peking Opera actor Yang Shaopeng, performed during the event.

Both classic pieces and contemporary works were performed.

The event, in its seventh edition, also featured interactive programs, allowing audiences to get a glimpse of the backstage of traditional Chinese operas as well as learning the history and knowledge about traditional Chinese operas.
