New projects aim to expand fan base of classical music

China Philharmonic Orchestra has announced its strategic cooperation with Hong Kong-based Sunwah Group, by launching projects of new concert halls across the country.

According to Li Nan, president of China Philharmonic Orchestra, new concert halls will be built in Guangdong, Zhejiang and Anhui provinces, promoting the popularity of classical music in those regions.

"China Philharmonic Orchestra is home to top Chinese musicians and has toured worldwide by performing with international musicians. We want to expand our fan base and let more audience to enjoy classical music," says Li. "With the building of new concert halls, we will have new plans to be added into our performing seasons."

Besides concerts, programs, such as workshops and master classes, will be offered at the new venues.
