CPC delegation wraps up visit to Kiribati

SYDNEY -- A delegation of the Communist Party of China wrapped up a four-day visit to Kiribati on Thursday.

The delegation, led by Guo Yezhou, deputy head of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, was invited by the ruling Tobwaan Kiribati Party.

During the visit from Oct 23 to 26, the delegation met with Kiribati Minister for Environment, Lands and Agriculture Development Ruateki Tekaiara, Acting Chief Justice Tetiro Semilota, Minister for Information, Communication, Transport and Tourism Development Tekeeua Tarati, Chairman of the Tobwaan Kiribati Party Betero Atanibora and some other cabinet members.

Both sides acknowledged that the two countries have carried out fruitful cooperation, which proves that the resumption of diplomatic relations is in the interests of the two peoples. The two sides also expressed willingness to further promote a long-term and stable development of the China-Kiribati relations.
