German premium carmaker BMW is showcasing its iX5 Hydrogen, among other models, at the China International Import Expo that runs from Nov 5 to 10 in Shanghai.
This is the first time the Munich-headquartered company has presented a hydrogen fuel cell model at the annual event, which it has been participating in for six years in a row.
The iX5 Hydrogen has a maximum output of 295 kW and a WLTP range of 504 kilometers, according to BMW. Its hydrogen tank can be filled in three to four minutes, much shorter than what electric vehicles need to get fully charged.
BMW said it has tested hydrogen vehicles in many countries this year, and their performance is good despite different geographical and weather conditions.
The carmaker is showcasing four other NEV models at the CIIE as well, which are the iX, the i7 M70L, the i4 and the XM Label Red.
China is BMW's largest market in the world, and the German carmaker also has globally-leading manufacturing plants and state-of-the-art research facilities in the country.
BMW said it will further deepen its cooperation with local companies to foster Sino-German economic and technological cooperation and play a part in China's high-quality growth.
