Winter tourism booms as temperatures drop
The ice-and-snow tourism is expected to continue to drive China's tourism boom this year.
As temperatures drop down in many regions, a lot of ski resorts are opening their doors to welcome visitors, with the order sale and pre-sale volumes reaching new highs since 2019.
The volume of ticket booking for skiing by the end of this year surged 113 percent week-on-week, nearly twice as much as the same period of last year, as well as the volume of pre-order for the skiing theme group tour increased 70 percent week-on-week, nearly 30 percent higher than the same period of last year, according to the online travel agency Ctrip.
The search volume of skiing jumped threefold month-on-month since November, and the booking volume of ski resort tickets nationwide increased 147 percent compared to the same period in 2019, according to the travel services provider Qunar.
