Economical Fulwin A8 launched

Chery Automobile launched the Fulwin A8 plug-in hybrid sedan on Wednesday in Shenzhen, South China's Guangdong province, with four variants at prices starting from 119,900 yuan ($16,810).
The compact sedan is 4,780 millimeters long with a wheelbase of 2,790 mm. Equipped with Chery's Kunpeng Super Hybrid C-DM system, the fifth-generation ACTECO 1.5T engine and an electric motor, the model has a pure electric range of 127 kilometers and an overall range of more than 1,400 km. It can achieve a fuel consumption of 4.2 liters per 100 km.
The engine can generate a maximum output of 115 kilowatts with a top torque of 220 Newton meters, while the electric motor can generate 150 kW with 310 Nm of torque.
Equipped with Qualcomm's 8155 chip and Chery's Lion 5.0 intelligent cockpit system, the model boasts Level 2 plus driving-assist functions and an infotainment system which can boot up in two seconds.
Before the official launch, the carmaker organized a challenge event where 10 Fulwin A8s, fully fueled and charged, traveled from Wuhu in Anhui province to Shenzhen in 20 hours. The cars achieved a maximum range of 1,624 km with a minimum fuel consumption of 3.48 liters per 100 km.
