Shanghai Library East displays over 400 dragons

An exhibition of dragons is underway in Shanghai Library East, where 438 dragons in different shapes, styles and forms are presented ahead of the Chinese New Year.

The year 2024 marks the Year of the Dragon according to the Chinese zodiac. Shanghai Library, in collaboration with Shanghai Artists' Association and the Shanghai Animation and Cartoon Association, began to collect dragon-related artworks two more months ago, and received more than 7,000 paintings, sculptures, digital designs, traditional Chinese New Year prints, and embroideries.

The selected artworks are on exhibition in the open spaces of the library, from the ground floor lobby, to corridors and exhibition halls on the third, fifth and seventh floor. Opened on Jan 29, the exhibition will continue until March 2.
