The Chinese Embassy in Belarus successfully holds the 'Embracing the Chinese New Year' Spring Festival reception for overseas Chinese, students and Chinese-funded enterprises and institutions

On the evening of February 4, the Chinese Embassy in Belarus held a "Embracing the Chinese New Year" Spring Festival reception for overseas Chinese, students and Chinese-funded enterprises and institutions at the Beijing Hotel in Minsk. More than 220 representatives of overseas Chinese in Belarus, Chinese-funded enterprises and institutions, teachers and overseas students attended the event.

The reception was presided over by Counsellor Luo Shixiong. After singing the national anthem, Ambassador Xie Xiaoyong delivered a speech.

In his speech, Ambassador Xie first extended New Year wishes to representatives of Chinese nationals, Chinese-funded enterprises, teachers and students in Belarus, and expressed his heartfelt thanks to all of you for your long-term efforts in promoting national development, promoting China-Belarus friendship and supporting the work of the Embassy. He also briefly introduced China's important economic and social development achievements in 2023 and the fruitful achievements in various fields of China-Belarus all-weather comprehensive strategic partnership.

Ambassador Xie said that in 2023, the overseas Chinese, Chinese-funded institutions and enterprises, teachers and students in Belarus shared the same breath and destiny with the motherland, contributed to the development of the motherland, firmly supported national reunification, opposed foreign interference in China's internal affairs, resolutely opposed Taiwan independence and other separatist forces, and actively spoke out on domestic and foreign affairs at key points, fully demonstrated the cohesion and centripetal force of the Chinese nation. We have actively engaged in China-Belarus friendship and made our own contributions to deepening bilateral cooperation in various fields and consolidating the traditional friendship between the two peoples.

At the reception, everyone said that the reception held by the Embassy for Chinese in Belarus on the occasion of the arrival of the Spring Festival made them feel the care from the Party and the state, and felt warm and joyful. We are proud of the tremendous achievements in China's economic and social development in the past year and are deeply pleased and satisfied with the gratifying achievements in China-Belarus cooperation in various fields. They all agreed that in the New Year, in accordance with the four points raised by Ambassador Xie, they will continue to fulfill their duties, do their jobs well, study hard, work hard and live an active life, and make new and greater contributions to serving domestic development, promoting China-Belarus cooperation in various fields and enhancing the friendship between the two peoples.
