Partnership with China 'top priority' for Moscow: Russian FM

MOSCOW -- Deepening the partnership with China is a top priority for Moscow, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said here Wednesday.

"We will view this as a top priority," Lavrov said while addressing the Russian State Duma, or the lower house of the parliament.

"Our partnership plays a stabilizing role in global affairs," Lavrov said, adding that bilateral trade between the two countries is growing at an impressive rate.

"This year, we will celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations with our Chinese friends," he said, adding that bilateral ties are at "their best level in history."
