Intangible cultural heritage items, including paper-cutting and dough modeling, took visitors' breath away in Rome, Italy, in early March.

Those items in display are from Guanxian county, Liaocheng city, East China's Shandong province.

"The paper-cutting art in Guanxian is truly beautiful. Each piece of work is vivid and lifelike," says P. Publius, a local resident.

"It's hard to imagine that these animals are all handmade."

Publius adds that he will bring his family to visit China to explore more of the country's culture.

The cultural display in Rome is to convey friendship and culture and showcase the characteristics of Liaocheng, says Liu Xiaojing, head of the county's publicity department.

"It also aims to improve Italian friends' understanding of Chinese culture, boost communications and send them an invitation to travel in Guanxian," Liu says.
