The third session of a vocational skills training program for college students from the Xizang autonomous region began on Saturday in Wuhan, Hubei province.

Over 110 students attended the opening ceremony, representing a dozen universities, including Wuhan University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, South-Central Minzu University and Wuhan Business University.

The program is organized by the Hubei Provincial Construction and Aid-Xizang Workers Association and hosted by South-Central Minzu University's School of Computer Science and School of Continuing Education.

This training program session offers courses including AI drawing, AI video production and the practical use of WPS office tools, aiming to cultivate their digital literacy and innovative skills, which can help Xizang students in Hubei adapt to a digitized and intelligent work environment.

"Although the classes have already started, the number of registrations is still increasing," Tan Hui, the association's president, told Hubei Daily on Tuesday. "So far, 265 students have applied, marking the highest number since the program started."

Besides providing free training, the association offers free lunches and transportation expense subsidies to the trainees.

To motivate the trainees, a scholarship of 300 yuan ($41.5) will be awarded to each student who passes the examination and obtains the Kingsoft Office Specialist certification.

"The training program is expected to enable students to proficiently master popular AI tools and deeply study WPS office tools to achieve efficient office work and solve practical problems," said Tan. "I hope each student can cherish the opportunity and strive to find joy, gain knowledge and benefit from the training."
