Under the theme "Asia and the World: Common Challenges, Common Responsibilities", the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2024, being held in Boao, Hainan province, from Tuesday to Saturday, calls on all countries to jointly address global challenges and shoulder the responsibility of promoting peace and prosperity.
The forum's agenda echoes the concerns of all parties, be it the world economy, scientific and technological innovation, social development and international cooperation, and aims to build up Boao consensus, contribute Boao wisdom, propose Boao solutions, and explore a more certain direction for the world economy.
The international community should uphold the spirit of inclusiveness, innovation and win-win cooperation, rebuild confidence and trust, strengthen solidarity, and work together to meet global challenges and promote development.
Asian economies should work to maintain the stability of industry and supply chains and promote regional economic integration to provide important support for global economic stability and growth. Therefore, this year's forum focuses on regional economic integration and growth in Asia, and will hold several sub-forums to discuss expansion of investment and deepening of financial cooperation in Asia.
The forum also sets a topic on the rise of the Global South, with the aim of deepening solidarity and cooperation in trade, debt, food, supply chain, science and technology, climate change and other fields in the Global South, jointly addressing risks and challenges, and promoting the development of a more equal and orderly world.
The forum is an important window for the international community to observe and understand China's future policy direction. Since its founding in 2001, the forum has provided an important stage for businesspeople around the world to identify business opportunities and seek cooperation with China and with each other.
The profound adjustments and changes in the international landscape and the global governance system highlight the greater need for countries to transcend political barriers and coordinate their macro policies to jointly address emerging challenges.
