China's e-commerce logistics index, an indicator of logistics operations in the e-commerce sector, was 112.5 points in March this year, an increase of 1.1 points from the previous month, chinanews.com reported on Wednesday.

In March, the sub-index tracking logistics volume was 126.4 points, 4.2 points higher than the previous month, according to the report citing the China Federation of Logistics & Purchasing.

The sub-index tracking logistics volume in rural areas was 127.7 points in March, 3.4 points higher than the previous month.

In the same period, the sub-index tracking logistics timeliness was 99.8 points, 1.9 points higher than the previous month, ending a seven-month decline.

In general, the e-commerce logistics market has maintained a steady improvement trend, which is expected to continue as resident consumption further recovers.

The e-commerce logistics index is co-released by the China Federation of Logistics & Purchasing and JD.com, a major online retailer in China. The baseline index was set up at 100 points.
