The espionage series War of Faith, set in 1930s Shanghai, has captured the attention of overseas markets, including Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, and Vietnam, as reported by the streaming site iQiyi.
Starring Wang Yibo and Li Qin, the 38-episode drama follows Wei Ruolai, a financial genius employed at the Central Bank of China, which is under the control of the Kuomintang in Shanghai. Despite his exceptional abilities being admired by a bank executive, the ambitious and patriotic protagonist becomes disillusioned upon uncovering pervasive corruption within the Kuomintang's financial circles. Influenced by an underground member of the Communist Party of China, he undergoes a transformation in his beliefs, embracing Marxism and dedicating himself to the revolutionary path.
