Renowned violinist embarks on China tour

Distinguished Chinese American violinist Chenyi Avsharian, formerly known as Chen Yi, is set to kick off her much-anticipated tour in China, with performances scheduled in key cities like Beijing, Shanghai, and Nanjing in Jiangsu province, from May 17 to June 22.
The tour repertoire, spanning from 1834 to 1982, will feature timeless compositions by eminent musicians such as Ernst Toch, Franz Waxman, and Pablo de Sarasate, allowing audiences to immerse themselves in the resplendent beauty of Avsharian's artistry and the enchanting melodies of her instrument.
In a notable upcoming engagement, Avsharian will grace the illustrious stage of Carnegie Hall in New York in October, where she will collaborate with esteemed pianist Rohan de Silva and violinist Simon Hagopian-Rogers in a performance that promises to enthrall music enthusiasts.
Having honed her craft under the tutelage of her father in Beijing and the esteemed music educator Lin Yaoji at the Central Conservatory of Music, the award-winning violinist has garnered acclaim for her exceptional talent and dedication to her craft.
Avsharian's musical journey has taken her to remarkable heights, including a memorable performance of Max Bruch's Scottish Fantasy, Op 46 with the China National Symphony Orchestra under the baton of conductor Li Xincao in 2019.
Notably, she is married to Charles Avsharian, the founder and CEO of Shar Music. Over the past decade, she has seamlessly balanced her roles as a world-class violinist and as the chief operating officer of the company, underscoring her enduring commitment to music and her multifaceted contributions to the musical realm.
