Experts and scholars from the agricultural and cultural sectors of China and Mexico gathered in Liaoning on Monday for exchanges on corn, including scientific breeding, cultivation and processing technologies.

The event — the China (Liaoning)-Mexico Maize Cultural Dialogue — took place at the Liaoning Provincial Museum in Shenyang.

Museum Director Wang Xiaowen said, "Civilization is enriched by exchanges and mutual learning. In the future, we will also further promote the exhibitions of the Liaoning Provincial Museum to the international stage, strengthening exchanges and mutual learning between civilizations. At the same time, we also look forward to achieving more results in the integration of culture and tourism."

Leobigildo Cordova Tellez, director of the National Seed Inspection and Certification Center and head of the Seed Industry Department of Mexico's Ministry of Agriculture, added: "In addition to the exchange of maize [corn] culture, China and Mexico can further carry out commercial cooperation. This will not only allow people in Liaoning to taste Mexican food but also enable Mexicans to taste Liaoning food."

The dialogue offered a path for both China and Mexico to engage in exchanges in the fields of agricultural technology, the corn industry and the integration of culture and tourism, taking cooperation to a new level.
