The Art Ensemble of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions has revealed its latest musical endeavor, Dream Chasers, scheduled for its premiere at the China National Opera House in Beijing on May 31.

Fronted by acclaimed singer Chen Sisi in the lead role, this Chinese musical draws its narrative from the genuine experiences of individuals involved in the design and construction of China's groundbreaking Fuxing high-speed trains.

As both the lead performer and artistic director of the production, Chen shared insights into the meticulous creative process that commenced in 2022. The team gathered authentic accounts through interviews with designers, engineers, and laborers, refining the script through approximately five iterations to encapsulate the essence of their stories.

The highly anticipated Chinese musical is slated to grace the stages of Beijing until June 2, offering audiences a poignant and immersive glimpse into the trials and triumphs of those dedicated to the development of China's innovative high-speed rail network.
