China's installed power generation capacities surge

China's installed power generation capacity surged 14.1 percent year-on-year to 3.01 billion kilowatts by the end of April, according to the latest figures released by the National Energy Administration on Thursday.

The installed capacity of solar power soared 52.4 percent year-on-year to 670 million kilowatts, while wind power rose 20.6 percent to about 460 million kilowatts, it said.

Major power generation enterprises nationwide completed investment in power projects amounting to 191.2 billion yuan ($26.39 billion) during the first four months this year, up 5.2 percent year-on-year, while that of power grid projects amounted to 122.9 billion yuan, up 24.9 percent year-on-year.
