US-based VF Corp eyes major footprints in China
Given the country's strong economic growth, increasing middle income group and Chinese consumers' rising demand for active and healthy lifestyle, US-based apparel, footwear and accessories company VF Corp aims to make China its biggest market in the future, said its top executive.
"The biggest market is the US, China is growing rapidly. We'll see one day, I think, that China will pass (the US)," said Bracken Darrell, president and CEO of VF Corp, during an exclusive interview with China Daily.
Operating more than 1,500 mono-brand stores under seven brands in its second-biggest market, Darrell said China currently contributes about 10 percent of the company's global business, with the country registering a faster growth rate than the rest of the world.
