Former senior Nanjing legislator under investigation

Luo Qun, former senior legislator in Nanjing, Jiangsu province, is under investigation for suspected severe violations of the Party discipline and national laws, China's top anti-corruption watchdogs said.
This was disclosed by the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Communist Party of China and the National Commission of Supervision online.
Luo was the deputy head of the Standing Committee of the Nanjing People's Congress, the city's top legislative body, the commissions said, adding that the investigation is being conducted by the Jiangsu provincial disciplinary and supervisory departments.
Public information shows that Luo, 61, a native of Anhui province, joined the Party in 1983 and started his career as an engineer in 1985. He became vice-mayor of Nanjing, capital of Jiangsu, at the end of 2009.
From April 2022 to January 2023, he served as deputy head of the Nanjing's people's congress standing committee.
