Musical Light and Shadow embarks on nationwide tour

The captivating Chinese musical, Light and Shadow, made its debut in Beijing, enchanting audiences from June 7 to 9. Following its successful premiere, the musical is set to mesmerize spectators in Shanghai with six shows starting on Thursday, before embarking on a journey across various cities such as Hangzhou in Zhejiang province, and Nanjing and Suzhou in Jiangsu province.

Featuring a talented ensemble of singers, including Xu Ziwei, Tian Hongjie and Shao Hengyu, Light and Shadow narrates the inspiring tale of a group of aspiring singers who fervently chase their musical aspirations.

Created by renowned songwriters Liu Xuandou and Zhuang Huaqi, the musical boasts a repertoire of approximately 30 original Chinese songs spanning a spectrum of music genres, including pop, rock, and hip-hop.

Liu Jing, the scriptwriter and producer behind the production, revealed that auditions for the musical commenced in 2021, providing a platform for budding Chinese vocalists to showcase their musical prowess and talents.
