Igniting a new culture and tourism engine: Media outlets participate in OCT high-quality development research
Playa Maya Beijing, a water park inside Happy Valley theme park in Beijing, officially opened to the public with the holding of an opening ceremony on June 15. Nearly 10,000 visitors as well as representatives from some 40 media outlets witnessed its opening.
The water park is the 12th such spot operated by Happy Valley, a theme park company under the culture and tourism conglomerate Overseas Chinese Town (OCT) Group.
The water park is committed to building itself into a new urban entertainment hub integrating Maya culture, water recreation, festive celebrations, and vibrant performances, according to a park official.
This launch event, organized by the OCT Group, a Chinese central State-owned enterprise (SOE), is also a crucial part of amedia tour led by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council to learn about the latest development of SOEs.
Representatives from media outlets were invited to watch the performance Golden Mask Dynasty created by the OCT Group prior to the opening of the water park. The performance captures the ancient mystery of Sanxingdui culture. Since its premiere, it has been performed nearly 5,000 times and has been watched by tens of millions of tourists from more than 50 countries and regions.
