The closing ceremony of the week-long 2024 Hainan Island Carnival at the Ocean Flower Island Tourist Resort in the city of Danzhou on Saturday evening captivated attendees with a fusion of performances that integrated elements of Dongpo culture, Danzhou folk music and the volcanic coastline.

Hainan hosted the carnival during the summer for the first time, underscoring the theme of shared joy between hosts and guests.

The festival boasted a lineup of over 50 themed activities, including the grand opening ceremony, 11 major event series and the spectacular closing ceremony. In addition to inviting local residents and tourists to join in the celebrations, the event attracted media delegates and travel industry representatives from across the country.

During the closing ceremony, the Hainan Western Tourism Alliance showcased the unique tourism resources of western Hainan through a comprehensive video presentation, extending a warm invitation to global travelers.

The alliance, comprising eight cities and counties including Danzhou, Dongfang and Qiongzhong, has been integrating tourism resources since its establishment in 2015. Through collaborative marketing efforts and a focus on differentiated development, the alliance has transformed western Hainan into a popular destination for local residents and tourists.

Following the promotion, the event featured the launch ceremony of the 2024 Hainan Western Tourism Alliance OTA products.

The newly launched specialty tourism routes highlight emerging tourism formats such as educational tour, health and wellness, forest exploration, and adventure tourism. Emphasizing private group tours and small-group packages, these offerings aim to drive customized travel experiences and promote tourism consumption in western Hainan.
