Shanghai Disney Resort welcomes summer with new lineup

Shanghai Disney Resort is gearing up for the summer season with new offerings including two new Disney characters, live shows and entertainment, summer-themed merchandise collections, and seasonal food and beverage options.

Making their first appearances at the resort are Partysaurus Rex from the Pixar Animation Studios Toy Story films and Angel, Stitch's pink friend from Lilo & Stitch. Rex will be featured in the interactive water play area in Disney•Pixar Toy Story Land. Meanwhile, Angel will join Stitch for meet-and-greets starting on June 26's Stitch Day celebration before making appearances in Tomorrowland.

Mickey and Friends, as well as the Duffy and Friends crew, will don vibrant new summer outfits with fruity and flowery motifs.

Ralph and Vanellope from Disney Animation's Wreck It Ralph will return for the Ralph Breaks the Dance Floor summer dance party at the Pepsi E-Stage. Other new entertainment includes the Summer Blast Castle Show, the Disney Explorer Band, the summer edition of Swabbie Fight and Disney Duffy's Splashing Pre-Parade.

The resort will receive a summer makeover with seasonal decorative overlays. Restaurants and snack carts will roll out special summer menus and treats. Three new merchandise collections themed to summer will also make their debut over the course of the season.

At Disneytown, a summer street performance will operate every Friday to Sunday. Wishing Star Lake will host a series of carnival-style games, while evening adventure tours for kids will be held on Saturday and Sunday evenings throughout July and August.
