Over the past few years, Central China’s Henan province has stepped up the digital transformation of its power grid and significantly contributed to the development of new quality productive forces.

The State Grid Henan Electric Power Company said it has widely utilized artificial intelligence technologies, or AI, to improve daily operations, customer services and company management.

For instance, AI applications could help the company review contracts and acquire images, which has not only improved its work efficiency, but also lowered labor costs.

Meanwhile, the company said it has actively collected feedback and suggestions from its employees, so as to continuously optimize the AI technologies.

Aimed at creating a larger database for AI, the company said it also regularly dispatches professionals to collect data and samples across the province, as well as to classify, label and quality inspect them.

Besides, a wide range of tools have been leveraged to process the data and a detailed data catalog has been set up.

Eying further growth, the company said it is currently building an AI talent pool and expects to cultivate more high-tech talents.

Efforts will also be made to further drive innovation and expand the application scenarios of the AI technologies, thereby strengthening the resilience of the local power grid, the company added.
