Bullet train linking old revolutionary base opens

The Banan Bullet Train which runs from Hanzhong in Shaanxi province to Bazhong and Nanchong in Southwest China's Sichuan province started operation on Thursday.

The fastest travel time between Bazhong and Chengdu and between Bazhong and Chongqing municipality will be two hours and 16 minutes and two hours and 46 minutes respectively, cutting the present time by one hour and 50 minutes and one hour and 15 minutes, respectively.

The train is expected to boost the link between Bazhong, an old revolutionary base, and the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle, said Shen Changwen, an information officer with the Bazhong municipal committee of the Communist Party of China.
