6 dead, 8 injured in S. Korea's traffic accident

SEOUL -- Six people had been confirmed dead and eight others injured in a traffic incident in South Korea, Yonhap news agency reported Monday.
A major vehicle accident took place at about 9:30 pm local time (1230 GMT) near an intersection of the Seoul City Hall.
A police official was quoted as saying that a driver in his 70s appeared to have hit pedestrians waiting for a traffic signal, adding that the number of casualties may rise.
