Electrical facilities upgraded to meet growing electricity consumption

By Liu Zizheng | chinadaily.com.cn | Updated: 2024-07-04 00:06

As the living standards of Chinese people continue to improve, the country's electricity consumption has grown rapidly over the past few years, especially amid the hot weather.

Against such a backdrop, the State Grid Corp of China has stepped up efforts to renovate and upgrade the aging electrical facilities across the country, so as to ensure a stable and reliable power supply.

In Xinxiang city of Central China's Henan province, for example, the power supplier recently dispatched workers to install new transformers, switch boxes, and transmission lines for a local village.

All the work was completed within only nine hours, which minimized the impact on local residents' normal lives and allowed them to enjoy a more comfortable and safe summer.
