Rural development in Gansu creates gorgeous rural ecology
During this midsummer season, the town of Wujiang is abuzz with farming in Zhangye, Gansu province. Farmers oversee crops of corn, dry field rice and vegetables against the backdrop of the Qilian Mountains.
Traversing this idyllic setting are the S237 expressway and the Lanxin Railway, which links Lanzhou in Gansu province and Urumqi in the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region. Together with the farms, they create a beautiful tapestry of rural ecology.
Sources from Zhangye's Ganzhou district said that the district maintains a stable corn seed production area of around 40,000 hectares, yielding over 300 million kilograms of corn seeds annually. It accounts for more than 40 percent of the national corn seed production.
In recent years, Ganzhou district has been actively promoting the construction of its rural areas, showcasing fields that are teeming with vitality and rich in local flavors, distinct cultural features, and picturesque living environments.
