Ten bodies have been found after a flash flood in Hanyuan, a county under the administration of Ya'an in Sichuan province.
At about 2:30 am on Saturday, the flood interrupted communication and blocked roads and bridges in the county's Xinhua village, Malie township.
Firefighters and policemen have used drones, excavators, underwater detectors and emergency mechanized bridges to conduct search and rescue operations in the village. They have also used life detectors and search and rescue dogs in residential areas and downstream sections of the river.
Along with the bodies, 29 people were still missing as of 4 pm on Sunday, China Central Television reported.
A preliminary investigation showed that more than 30 people were missing, and 1,524 people were affected.
China Central Television said the resettlement sites in the disaster area have sufficient food, drinking water and other necessities for daily life.
