Night market lights up Shanghai's Xuhui district
A unique night market held at the International Media Port in West Bund in Shanghai last weekend marked the debut of Xuhui district's inaugural street food night. This carnival is set to return on August 2 to 4 and 9 to 11, enchanting visitors from 4 pm to 10 pm each day.
In line with the launch of the first Shanghai International Consumption Season - Shanghai Summer on July 6, the carnival blends culinary culture, sports retail, intangible cultural heritage, stage performances, and outdoor movies, injecting vitality into the night economy and offering a unique summer consumption experience for both residents and tourists.
Featuring more than 50 food brands, the night market will showcase local delicacies, international creative cuisines, and food trucks. Each day of the event will also include a variety of performances and an outdoor screen for movie screenings.
During the second weekend, a sports-themed section will be introduced, with over 40 booths offering outdoor supplies, cultural and creative items, apparel, and home goods. Activities such as pickleball, leisure running, and public yoga classes will be available.
In addition, the carnival's third weekend will unveil trendy cultural and creative stalls alongside booths featuring intangible heritage handmade items.
