Japanese citizens gathered for a rally in Shinjuku, a buzzing district of Tokyo on Saturday, calling for an immediate stop to the release of nuclear-contaminated water from the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant into the Pacific Ocean. Saturday marks one full year since such discharge by Japan from August 24, 2023. Many participants voiced their strong opposition to the ocean discharge.
