The 3rd China Newspaper Industry Innovation Development Conference opened in Nanning, South China's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, on Monday morning, providing a platform for industrial exchanges in innovation and development.

The conference brought together national newspaper industry experts to exchange experiences in reform, innovation and development, aiming to consolidate intellectual resources for the high-quality development of the newspaper industry in the new era.

During the conference, the list of innovative cases for the 4th China Newspaper Industry Deep Integration Development was announced.

The conference saw the release of 60 innovative cases, including 17 in the category of all-media communication construction, 21 in content innovation supply, 12 in innovative operational service models, 7 in digital technology applications, and 3 in institutional mechanism innovation.

China Daily's submission, a series featuring a digital character named Yuanxi telling a narrative story about Chinese civilization, was selected as an innovative case in the digital technology application category.

China Daily has been experimenting with digital technology. In 2022, with artificial intelligence as the core technology, it launched the virtual digital employee Yuanxi.

Serving as an originator of Chinese civilization exploration and the first cultural communication digital figure in the Chinese newspaper industry, Yuanxi narrates the story of Chinese civilization in a new form.

The series has garnered widespread attention, amassing 500 million global views.

The National Press and Publication Administration, the Press and Publication Bureau of the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, and the Guangxi Daily Newspaper Group organized the conference.

Xing Yu contributed to the story.
