Twelve symphony orchestras from the western part of China, including the Guiyang Symphony Orchestra, the Sichuan Symphony Orchestra, and the Chongqing Symphony Orchestra, will give concerts of both Western classical and Chinese music.

Conductors Tan Lihua, Zhang Guoyong and Shao En, will be present.

In addition to live concerts, the event includes public events to popularize classical music in Guizhou.

There have been five editions of the Western China Symphony Week, organized in conjunction with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, since 2010. It is a showcase of the symphony orchestras of the western part of China.
