The North China municipality of Tianjin sealed on Friday a deal worth 30 billion yuan ($4.2 billion) with provinces and autonomous regions to enhance cultural and tourism partnerships.

The agreement was formalized during the 2024 China Culture & Tourism Industries Exposition that kicked off in Tianjin on Friday and runs until Sept 16.

Participating regions in this collaborative effort include the Xinjiang and Xizang autonomous regions, as well as Shanxi, Shaanxi, Qinghai, Heilongjiang and Hainan provinces.

Tianjin also inked agreements with nearby Hebei province and Beijing to boost the tourism sector.

The event, themed "Experience New Forms of Cultural Tourism, Enjoy New Life", sprawls across an impressive 150,000 square meters, encompassing nine exhibition halls, and is expected to draw in 500,000 attendees.

It is poised to serve as a platform showcasing cutting-edge trends, burgeoning market prospects and forward-looking innovations within the cultural and tourism domains.
