Handan University unites Chinese and international students in celebration

Ahead of the Mid-Autumn Festival, teachers and students from home and abroad at Handan University in Handan, Hebei province, carried out a festival welcoming activity on Thursday, filled with traditional customs of the festival and culture of the city. Handan is known as the home of Chinese idioms.

They made lanterns together, tasted mooncakes they made themselves, learned calligraphy from a master calligrapher and performed stories based on idioms.

"We combined the excellent traditional Chinese and festival cultures to organize this event, hoping that the Chinese and foreign teachers and students in Handan can learn idioms together and feel the unique cultural charm of this city," said Wang Xianming, president of the university.
