Opera merges music pros and amateurs

"The opera gathers students and teachers from the music school of Zhengzhou University, which will be managed by a professional theater company, appealing to the public," says Dai.

"It will help our students learn more about the audience and the market, better preparing them for their future careers."

As for the newly founded choir, initiated by the music school of Zhengzhou University and managed by the Henan Poly Art Center Management Company, Dai adds that conductor Wu Lingfen will serve as the artistic director and composer Li Zhongdang will be the director. After rounds of auditions, 80 amateur music lovers, picked from more than 200 people, became members of the choir.
