Australian Treasurer Jim Chalmers is set to visit China from Thursday to Friday, China's top economic regulator said on Wednesday.

During the visit, Chalmers will co-chair the fourth China-Australia Strategic Economic Dialogue with Zheng Shanjie, head of the National Development and Reform Commission, according to a statement posted on NDRC's official website.

China has been Australia's largest trading partner for 15 consecutive years. For China, Australia stands as its seventh-largest trading partner. Last year, the bilateral trade value between the two countries reached a record 1.61 trillion yuan ($229.46 billion), up 9.8 percent year-on-year, data from the General Administration of Customs showed.
