Tianjin mayor touts financial, industrial integration

Tianjin is committed to enhancing collaborations that will drive the deep integration of finance with industry chains, as well as intensifying efforts to establish a high-level financial innovation zone, Mayor Zhang Gong said during the Tianjin Wudadao Forum on Sunday — a collaborative event hosted by Nankai University and the municipal financial work committee.

In July, Tianjin unveiled plans to establish a financial innovation model zone focusing on key financial sectors such as technology, pensions and shipping, in order to cultivate a financial ecosystem that fosters high-quality financial development.

The launch of the Institute of National Innovation and Finance at Nankai University took place during the event.

Yang Qingshan, Party chief of Nankai University, said, "The university is dedicated to establishing a top-tier financial think tank and world-class international financial disciplines to bolster the city's initiatives."
