WeRide, a Guangzhou, Guangdong province-based autonomous driving startup, announced on Tuesday with its latest generation of Level 4 robotaxi GXR, marking one of the world's most spacious robotaxi models.

The new robotaxi offers a vehicle length of over 5 meters and an interior cabin height of 1.34 meter. It is also the first to eliminate the front passenger seat, freeing up more space for passengers.

The company claimed that the new GXR boasts L4-level self-driving capabilities for public road operation, which means that it can handle complex scenarios such as peak traffic hours, mixed traffic conditions, and high-speed driving at night.
