Pumpkin art kingdom appears in Changchun

With the coming of harvest season, Changchun Movie Wonderland in Changchun, Jilin province, created a fantastical pumpkin art kingdom using pumpkins and reeds so that residents and tourists can enjoy the autumn landscape.

Dozens of artists from across the country were invited to create props for the first Pumpkin Festival with nearly 40 varieties and around 200,000 pumpkins.

Visitors can marvel at the Pumpkin Bus, which symbolizes the joy of the harvest; the giant panda beloved by children; the educational corridor, which showcases pumpkin knowledge; the pumpkin houses displaying different types of pumpkins; or one of many meticulously designed pumpkin photo spots.

The festival will run until Nov 10.

After the event, the pumpkins will be collected to recycle into feed or otherwise reused to avoid waste, the park said.
